The purpose of Evangelize Asheville & Beyond is to share my positive life change testimony with everyone who comes up to chat, and to share Gospel testimonies of other believers online. During riot season my primary evangelism tool has been a sign that promotes Jesus and our great nation he has called Christians to steward. We have been and continue to be living in a season of intense spiritual discord that manifests in political and cultural polarity. The initial method I’ve used was designed to engage directly on the “battlefront” from which most people choose to shy away. I would use the common ground of mutual frustration with social and political climate regardless of party affiliation as a launch point for sharing the Gospel. In this new season My desire is to maximize to use of social media namely tik tok to extend the reach of our ministry doing live teaching and prayer times centered around Identity in Christ, evangelism, deliverance, and a measure of discipleship. I do not consider myself “pastoral” and “shepherding.” But I will sow into a handful of people who qualify for my time and attention as the Spirit leads. I have filmed some testimonies to stock an evangelism YouTube channel and I am reaching out to new audiences on tik tok. Old style angry street preaching only serves to drive away people from the church. I am not a "hellfire brimstone angry” street preacher. I do not condone or endorse any kind of expression that does not provide a positive point of redemption to draw in unbelievers. God is not predominantly angry. Nor does he compromise on his holiness. He is kind but he is not soft. He is strong but He is merciful and filled with joy. If we are to draw the unbelieving broken hearts we are to use the honey of the word. Though vinegar is good for cleaning wounds, honey is sweet and has antiseptic properties. Bees are attracted to honey not vinegar. And the Gospel is honey to a vinegar-soaked existence. Jesus is the Way, the Truth, and the Life and no one comes to The Father God except through Him! He alone is our peace and salvation! My current goal is to reach $144,000 per annum from consistent monthly giving to build a foundation for expanding evangelism efforts through steady exposure of the Gospel on the streets of Asheville and training those who have a desire to directly engage and create friendly interactions to turn hearts towards Jesus. There is a time and place for standing firm and facing off on controversial subjects however my primary purpose is to create an atmosphere to help the hurting and lost in the face of potential and enflamed contention Phase 1: This phase was the riot season phase where we stood in the center of town and shared the gospel in the middle of riots, protests, and during peak foot traffic. Over the course of three years since the second day of the Gearge Floyd riot in 2020 we ministered over 120 days and at 9 different riots and protests. During that time 48 people made a profession of faith in Jesus. Phase 2: Starting December 2022 Our first goal is to continue dedicating time and focus to leading the lost to Jesus, build an evangelism team, disciple new believers who want discipleship from us, procuring materials/supplies, developing content, and establishing a viral social media presence of evangelism, teaching, prayer, and testimonials of what Jesus has done in each life personally. This is the current plan. We have not pushed any significant fundraising campaigns as of yet. If you desire to give we will receive it with thanksgiving! Historically, I have personally invested way beyond the amount others have given in obedience to funding my own ministry. We are not set up as a 501c3 as to not be beholden to the government. If you give don’t do it for tax write offs but because the Spirit lays it on your heart. I have seen Him work miraculously in our finances as we have cooperated with what He wanted us to do. He can do the same or better for you. Here is an estimated outlay of our ministry expenses the bulk of which I absorb: One hour on the street is $40. One tik tok minute long $60. One tik tok 3 minutes long $90 One hour of tik tok live stream $30. (Coming soon) One testimonial video produced: $150. One new believer discipled is $250. One person person trained in street evangelism is $250. We have made a dent in the spiritual atmosphere of Asheville and visitors are taking their experiences back to their communities and social circles.
