Eva (full name Evangeline) is the wonderful calico kitty that has been a light in Alexis’ life.
Found pregnant in a dumpster before she was fostered, Alexis adopted Eva during graduate school in DC. It was perfect - Alexis had just been diagnosed with PTSD and Eva quickly became her emotional support animal, even traveling between DC and Kansas with Alexis on breaks.
Along the way, Pippa (alexis’ orange tabby cat) joined the crew after Alexis fostered her, making their little family complete. Eva and Pippa became a bonded pair and have not been apart more than a few hours in the 5 years since - until now.
On Friday, Eva swallowed nearly two feet of indigestible plastic ribbon. She had to go undergo emergency surgery to remove the ribbon early on Monday morning.
She will be hospitalized until next Friday. Eva’s operation comes with substantial costs; those of you that know Alexis know that Eva is truly a member of the family. Please donate what you are willing to donate this holiday season to help cover the costs of Eva’s emergency surgery. Thank you
