My name is Evangelina Sena Opoka-Nyarko, I have completed my first year of college at Gordon College at Wenham, Massachusetts. I now need financial assistance to pursue my education in social work.
Last semester’s tuition balance was $5,000.00. Instead of going home to Ghana, I worked on campus during the summer; all my pay went toward $5,000.00.
I now owe $3,000.00. Also, I will need $15,000.00 balance of my second year of school.
I will not be able to register for classes this fall if I do not pay total of $18,000.00 tuition.
My birthplace is Ghana. I am the oldest biological child of Francis and Florence Opoka-Nyarko. I have lived with my parents and siblings in the African village of Gane-Asonge (Upper East Region of Ghana).
My parent’s life work is the Action Child Mobilization-Ghana (ACM-Ghana). This organization has touched and impacted thousands of children through their Christian and non-denominational organization. They focused on Whole Child and Youth through Creative and Innovative Initiatives since 1995 (registered with Ghana government in 1999.) They have traveled to: Togo, Nigeria, Liberia, Burundi and Rwanda training other international leaders.
My home houses 32 homeless children. My parents raise each child providing education and nurturing them as they were their own children.
My father honored me by accompanying him on an international mission to Togo. The purpose of the trip was to inspire children and other Children Ministry in this country. The hands-on experience has provided me to see the difference we each can make when we have a passion to help others.
A quote from my father Pastor Francis Opoku (Missionary Director of Action Child Mobilization-Ghana) : “Pastor Francis and Florence respectfully ask all to consider a donation to help Evangelina through her studies so she can come back , well equipped to offer much needed and better services to our deprived children and youth. We will be pleased to see her finish her course of study and return to take the mantle from us. We need your support. What you do for Evangelina, you do for many thousands of Ghanaian children and youth.”
I am determined to complete my education and return to Ghana to help many children and youth and follow in my parent's footsteps.
