Evan N. Castillo
Donation protected
Evan N. Castillo, beloved son, brother, and friend, entered eternal rest on July 25th, 2022 at the age of 19. He was born on November 20th, 2002 in San Antonio, TX and quickly captured the hearts of his family members.
Elementary through middle school Evan participated in swim lessons, Cub / Boy Scouts of America, basketball, Cross Country, and Track & Field teams. He even ventured out of his comfort zone and played football during his 8th grade year.
During high school Evan loved to play basketball, video games, and hang out with friends. He loved driving around, listening to music and could always put away an impressive amount of boneless chicken wings. Evan completed his senior year at Lake Travis High School in the midst of the COVID pandemic and graduated in the class of 2021.
Evan had a good heart and was immeasurably loved by many. He liked to make people laugh but stood firm in his beliefs. He loved to travel. He visited some beautiful places with friends and family. His favorite trip was New York, so we had to go twice. He was smart, handsome with quick-witted humor that will most certainly be missed. He loved his little sister and would run up to her while calling her name and then touch her face as she looked up at him. His absence in our lives is unimaginable. He was loved every day, and now he will be missed every day.
Evan is preceded in death by his little brother Hudson R. Maynard. He is survived by his mother Jennifer Castillo Maynard, stepfather Richard Maynard, sister Reagan Maynard, grandparents Richard and Cheryl Castillo, Uncles Brian Moore (Brenda Moore), Phillip Moore (Lisa Moore), and Richard Castillo (Lupe Castillo) along with numerous cousins and extended family that loved him dearly.
Arrangements for Evan are under the direction of Mission Funeral Chapels Cherry Ridge in San Antonio. Visitation will be held on August 4th, 2022, beginning at 10 a.m., with service to follow at noon. In lieu of flowers, a monetary donation can be made to Evan N. Castillo Go Fund Me page. The proceeds will be donated to charity in memory of Evan at a later date.
We want to express our gratitude for the outpouring of love and support during this time. It is a testament to how much Evan was and will continue to be loved. Thank you to those who made a positive impact on his life.
So he’s back in heaven now
The earth was not his place.
He taught you all he could
About dignity and grace,
So as you grieve and weep
To see him once again,
I promise he’s waiting here
When you get to heaven.
