Honouring Evan McCallum: Supporting His Son Alex

Donation protected
On June 3, 2023, after a long and courageous battle, we sadly lost our incredible friend and colleague, Evan McCallum.

At the young age of 45, Evan was not only an exceptional colleague, but also a loving and devoted father, brother, son and friend who impacted and enriched the lives of so many. Tragically, he leaves behind his beautiful son Alex, age 8, who suffered the devastating loss of his mother to cancer in 2021.

Evan’s life was dedicated to Alex, his friends, his family, and to flying. He served Summit around the globe, most recently in the UK, where he led the Military parachuting program. Evan not only delivered the finest level of service, he built friendships that have seen an outpouring of kind words, feelings and sentiments from countless individuals. He was the heart and soul of this project, and did this as a single dad with the amazing support of his family.

Evan was a very highly regarded member of our Summit team; he always went above and beyond to help his colleagues and always wore a smile on his face. He was a humble man, a great pilot, friend to all and ambassador around the globe, but above all, a loving dad. Alex, his son and legacy, at just 8 years old, is now left in the loving care of Evan’s mum, dad and sisters. There’s a great void from missing both his mum and dad, and while we can’t fix that heart-breaking story that no child should ever deal with, we hope to help in any way that we can.

Summit Air and our partners in the UK, Event Fire Solutions, and our parent company Ledcor would like to honour Evan’s life and show their appreciation for his work for all his friendship, and at the same time help to support Alex. Education carries a significant financial burden, which has now fallen upon Evan’s parents and siblings. While they will undoubtedly go above and beyond to provide for Alex, we want to help raise funds to alleviate this responsibility. Our goal is to ensure that Alex receives the opportunities in life that his late parents would have provided for him.

We are raising these funds to support Alex’s start in life. While we know we can’t ever replace the love, the cuddles, the reading of books at bedtime, that’s left with Evans Family; we can him show we care.
We invite you to join us in supporting Evan’s legacy – his son. Please consider donating, as any amount will truly help him during these difficult times.

Ledcor will match the first $10,000 of employee donations.
