Evan Fitzgerald’s Fight

Donation protected
Evan and Sarah are dear friends of mine. I first met Evan after becoming partners at Northview Fire District in North Ogden, Utah. Evan strived to be the best and worked hard to accomplish this. One of his passions was physical fitness, and it showed. His desire to increase his knowledge and capabilities led him to further his education and become certified as a paramedic. To broaden his career, he applied for and began working at Salt City Fire Department.

In December 2017, Evan traveled with a crew to fight fires in California. During that time, a tree branch fell, striking him in the head, knocking him unconscious, all while breathing ash into his lungs. Now, with permanent lung damage and decreased cognitive ability, he was told he could no longer continue firefighting — this is where his battle began.

With a family to support, Evan then filed for medical retirement and was denied. He hired an attorney, yet litigation could take years. He and his family have been receiving temporary financial assistance — however, that will soon end.

Evan is married to Sarah. They have three beautiful children.

Any donation would be greatly appreciated to help in this challenging time.
