These are the saddest and most difficult words to write.

Our best friend Leah Shaw lost her only child, her baby boy (as Leah would call him), Evan Charles Shaw, on Tuesday, June 21, 2022; he was only 21 years old. This sudden and unexpected loss has devastated Leah and her (and Evan’s) family. The bond between Leah and Evan was unique, special, and admired by many. Anyone in their presence couldn’t help but feel the love they shared.

Anyone who knows Leah and Evan knows that they were a packaged deal; they were always together. They had much more than a mother and son relationship. Together they loved to travel, cook, and have spirited conversations or debates on all levels, ranging from philosophy to something silly to their shared deep love of animals, family and friends. And you also know how wonderful, kind-hearted and caring they are – many of us have experienced first-hand how they’ve put others before themselves. In this unthinkable time, we hope to give back in any way we can to this sweet family.

All funds raised through this page will go towards the funeral and memorial services and Leah's ongoing expenses and needs as she takes time to grieve the loss of her beautiful baby boy, Evan Charles.

This beautiful young man was taken way, way, way too soon from his mother, his family, his friends, and this earth. It will be a long road for Leah and her family as they process Evan’s sudden loss.
