Eva Dort-Quagon had a massive stroke on Tuesday, September 13, 2016 at the young age of 43. Eva is a loving, personal friend to many. Her stroke has required a portion of her skull be removed for several months as a last resort to save her life. She is on a ventilator to assist her breathing, has no movement on her entire left side and no ability (today) to communicate outside of hand squeezing and a right eye blink. Eva is anticipated to require a minimum of 6 months in-hospital care and then following care at a rehab center.
Eva has NO Health Insurance. Roy (Eva's husband of 25 years) has a full-time job at the casino in Hayward, WI. Eva worked part-time as a cook at Cloud9 Coffee Shop. Together, Eva and Roy were self-employed to supplement their income. More than 60% of their income has been lost with Eva unable to work.
These funds will be used for Roy to make the daily trip, 3 hours and 15 minutes (round trip) to work and then back to the hospital, as well as provide money for food, basic living costs, utilities, gas, and any amount towards the astronomical medical costs and care. Eva's medical costs are mounting and anticipated to be in excess of $950,000!
Any financial gifts you can give immediately and ongoing over the course of the next 12 months for Eva's care would be immensely helpful for Eva, Roy and their family.
Thank you!
