My name is Jameel Deeb.

I am a postgraduate student whose life has come to a complete standstill as my family struggles to survive.

My younger brother, Mohammed, has cerebral palsy—a lifelong disability that affects both his body and mind. He is unable to care for himself, protect himself from danger, or understand why he is suffering. He depends entirely on others for warmth, safety, movement, and medical care. His condition requires continuous treatment and specialized medical supplies, many of which are expensive and extremely difficult to obtain in Gaza.

After the war, my family and Mohammed are now living in a torn tent on the shore of Khan Younis, exposed day and night to freezing cold, strong winds, rain, and harsh weather conditions. There is no proper shelter, no heating, very limited food, unsafe water, and little access to medicine. For someone with a severe disability like Mohammed, these conditions are not just difficult—they are life-threatening.

Mohammed does not understand why he is cold, hungry, or in pain. He cries from fear and discomfort while my parents struggle helplessly to protect him. The psychological and physical toll on him and my family is devastating.

I am watching all of this from afar. I was forced to pause my postgraduate studies abroad because I can no longer focus while my brother is freezing in a tent. I live with constant anxiety, guilt, and helplessness, knowing my family is enduring this suffering without the means to escape it. My education, my future, and my entire life feel frozen as long as they remain in this situation.

This fundraiser exists for one reason: survival.

The funds will be used to help provide Mohammed with:

• Medical treatment and necessary supplies

• Food and clean water

• Warm clothing and basic heating

• The most basic level of safety and human dignity

Every contribution, no matter how small, can help protect my brother from the cold, ease his suffering, and give my family a chance to endure this unimaginable reality.
