Support a young Doctor from Gaza evacuate to Egypt and get much needed medical treatment for his kidneys. Currently the border and ports are closed, funds are being raised in anticipation of the border opening.

I have been communicating with Dr. Oday Zakaria from Gaza for 18 months. He reached out to me on social media amidst the chaos and carnage unfolding in the area. He has been communicating to me the atrocities, devastation and genocide the people of Gaza are facing.

Their situation is unfathomable. Not only were they subjected to continuous bombardment by the IOF but they were starved, displaced from their homes with lack of drinkable water, no electricity, no access to healthcare and have been stripped of every basic human right.

I have decided to raise funds to help Dr. Zakaria evacuate Gaza and get the urgent medical treatment he needs for his kidneys, possible only when the borders reopen.

Gaza has become uninhabitable and the only way for them to have a chance of surviving the genocide and building a future is to evacuate.

Unfortunately, this comes at a massive cost. The Egyptians are charging large sums of money to evacuate. Dr. Zakaria has lost EVERYTHING and couldn’t possibly pay for evacuation. The evacuation cost alone is $5000.

Dr Zakaria graduated as a medical doctor 4 years ago and is unable to get a job in Gaza due to the economic instability and destruction of almost all healthcare facilities. He is 28 years old and a driven, kindhearted, passionate young Doctor who has been volunteering his time and services. Like many others in Gaza, he has a bright future ahead of him but even the most basic things seem impossible.

Dr Zakaria suffers from MCD Nephrotic Syndrome, a kidney disease for which he requires treatment with a biological agent called Rituximab which is not available in Gaza due to a lack of medication. It costs roughly £1000 per dose and he requires 4 doses for the next cycle next month.

Helping him evacuate Gaza when the border opens will allow him to gain access to the necessary healthcare to prevent his kidneys from going into failure. The funds will also go towards supporting his accommodation and fees for specialisation in his chosen field.
