Hello, I’m Huda Almughary, I’m from Gaza and currently live in Rome. I’m asking for your support in helping my younger sister Aya leave Gaza to continue her lifelong dream of becoming a Physics academic.

Aya is the most ambitious and hard-working person I know. She obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Physics with first-class honors from Al Azhar University in 2020, marking the highest achievement in the College of Science since its establishment.

Following her undergraduate success, Aya was awarded a scholarship to pursue her master's degree in Physics.

She completed all her coursework in January 2023 and was on track to discuss her thesis about photonic crystal biosensors in November 2023 under the guidance of Professor Sufyan Tayeh.

During the current genocide, IOF destroyed Al Azhar University and killed Professor Sufyan, along with his whole family. With every university having been destroyed and leaving our home, Aya currently has no prospects in Gaza and the end of the war is nowhere in sight. I deeply fear for her life and future.

My objective is to take Aya out of Gaza to join me in Rome, where she has already enrolled in Sapienza University of Rome to continue her master’s and hopefully doctoral programs after that, to become the exceptional academic she has always aspired to be.

The funds raised will be allocated as follows:

$5,500: Transportation expenses to facilitate her exit from Gaza to Egypt.
$1,500: Airfare from Egypt to Italy.
$2,800: Settlement costs for a few months (rent, food, other misc)

Every contribution, no matter the amount, will greatly impact Aya's future and our ability to reunite and rebuild our lives.
