EVA - THE BEAUTIFUL PODENCO

I am reaching out with a heartfelt urgent request to help a beautiful Podenco doggie named Eva, who is currently waiting in a kennel in Vinuela, Spain, hoping to find her furever home.

ABOUT ME

I am retired in Spain from the UK in a small village an hour from Malaga, I live on a basic pension and am A huge animal lover and spend most of my time rescuing, helping neuter and spay feral cats, helping rehome kittens etc

I personally have 11 beautiful rescue kitties that are now permanent little residents in my home keeping me very busy along with 2 gorgeous rescue doggies. One of my good friends in the UK is helping me with this fundraiser as I needed computer help and I also wanted to be able to manage on my own but this has been overwhelming and as they say it takes a village, so I am putting this out there in the hopes that with your help we can give EVA the life she deserves and is longing for.

ABOUT EVA AND HOW WE MET

It’s such a sad reality that when a dog is abandoned, they often stay in the same spot expecting their owner to return. This is precisely what happened to Eva.

One day, as I was driving past, I saw a small dog running back and forth on the road, looking lost and confused. I hoped she had escaped from a nearby garden, but an hour later, she was still there, she nervously accepted some food from me and let me put a slip lead on her. This is how Eva and I met.

I took her home, only to discover she was a little too interested in my cats, making it impossible for her to stay as I have ten of them. She was however perfect with myself and my dogs.

I shared her story on Facebook, hoping someone would recognize her or come forward to claim her. Unfortunately, no one did. One person mentioned seeing a woman in a silver car, stop and put a sheet on the ground with something in it and drove away, presumably to stop the dog from chasing the car as it would take Eva time to untangle herself.

Eva had a brief foster placement which ended on 7th July 2024, through no fault of hers and since then, I’ve had no option but to place her in a private kennel near my home. The very kind owner has allowed me to put the costs on an account owing as I do not have the funds after initially making some payments along with some kind donations from friends. Sadly it’s been 9 months

THE HELP WE URGENTLY NEED

1. Help towards the overdue kennel costs at €10 per night we owe over 1,800 Euros

2. A permanent home

3. A lovely foster home to provide the love and care that she needs whilst a permanent home is found

5. She is a cuddle monster and loves socialising and being with 'her people'

6. She has a calm and quiet disposition and responds well to basic commands like "sit" and "come."

7. she responds to being called by her name

8. However, she suffers from separation anxiety, which we believe can be eased with careful training.

9. She has now been sterilised and had basic vaccinations

10. SHE IS FULL OF LOVE
