Eva Garcia, one of my dearest friends needs and deserves any help we can find for her.
Eva is a 36 year old mother of 4 married to her high school sweetheart. She has 2 girls in grade school, one in high school and one in college. You may or may not know that Eva was diagnosed January 2019 with stage 4 metastatic breast cancer, hormonal based, that had spread to her lymph nodes, spine, shoulder & leg.
We started a GoFundMe campaign then and we were thankfully able to raise enough money that the family was able to pay their deductibles and co-pay portions that insurance didn't cover and assist with short paychecks from missed days of work. The doctors had done a hysterectomy in 2019 to eliminate the natural production of hormones and put her on Chemo pills. Thankfully they stopped the progression of the cancer in their efforts.
The family was seriously financially saved with the gracious help of all who donated. From $5.00 and up, every single dime helped! There are no words to express the gratitude to everyone that contributed to this wonderful family.
The treatment worked for a year. We have now learned that her cancer has started spreading again and has gone into her liver and lungs. She had a biopsy of the liver done 2/22/20 to see if the cancer has mutated and adapted to the current medication, and to find out why it has spread so rapidly.
Her oncologist will start IV Chemo right away while she waits for the results of the biopsy. She had a port implanted yesterday 2/13/20, for the Chemo treatments that she will begin next week.
I again am asking for any amount of donations to help this family through this difficult time. She will likely miss more work this time and the family will have the standard co-pays and again deductibles since this is a new insurance year.
If you know her personally or are close by, home cooked meals are also a blessing. Most days she's not able to stand in the kitchen and cook. With dining out regularly not a valid option, any home cooked meals, freezer meals, etc. are a precious gift for this deserving lady and her family.
Any amounts of money or help in any way that you can spare will be greatly appreciated and be so helpful.
