Paul and Simone where at La Paz where they both made numerous friends and indeed where starting to "live their dream".
On the 15th of September 2014, Paul and Simone where anchored in the bay, waiting for a hurricane to pass. They had fully prepared their yacht and themselves for the hurricane.
In the early hours of Monday, at about 2.00 a.m the hurricane came through and somehow the boat was lost to the sea.
Paul and Simone went missing. A search commenced in the daylight hours of monday to find Paul and Simone, but they where nowhere. Air searches commenced the following day, with the Navy performing sea searches and friends and community performing land searches.
The community that Paul and Simone had became very good friends with worked tirelessly until on the 19th September 2014 Simone was recovered. Paul was still missing. Yet again the community wouldn't stop and vowed they wouldn't until he was found. This happened on 21st September 2014.
Clive ( Simone's brother ) and myself can never thank the community enough for bringing our families back home and giving us closure.
Even though the area was destroyed, they didn't try to "get to normality" until their friends where found.
Clive and myself would like to raise money in memory of Paul and Simone and send it over to the Club president to try and help put the area back to a condition where others can "chase their dreams" also
Words are never enough to show our appreciation to all involved
