Hi. My name is Geraldine Chavez and I adopted the sweetest potato from Cincinnati Animal CARE two years and two months ago. She was my 9th foster pup and her brother and I fell hard for her and couldn’t imagine continuing life without her. Her body had been used for profit and her health had gone ignored. I promised I would take care of her forever and I have kept true to my promise.

Just last week we went in to the vet for something minor and it turns out she has been living with a broken left leg and two torn CCL’s. My heart broke. I felt like I had failed her. The vet was incredibly kind and reassuring. It was happenstance that she decided to feel her leg in the way that she did. We met with the orthopedic surgeon and the recommendation was two surgeries. First to repair the less intense leg so that when it comes time to fix the break, she has a healthy leg to stand on. The cost for both, $15,200 on the high end. I have some, but I don’t nearly have enough. She is in pain however and that I cannot stand for.

Anything helps. I will be incredibly appreciative of whatever you can give. A share even is helpful. I love my girl and I will figure this out with her and for her. ❤️‍

Edit: We got a second opinion from Care Center and at this time, I have decided to just perform surgery on one leg and remove her mass cell tumor. He too thought that she had been hit by a car at some point and because it was such an old break, he wouldn’t touch it.
