Aaron is 45 and lives in Northamptonshire. He was diagnosed with Crohn's disease at just 20 years old, shortly after he required surgery to remove a foot of his bowel. Unfortunately in 2015 Crohn's made an inevitable return and once again Aaron required an identical operation but this time he struggled to recover. It was determined Aaron had been suffering with an infection called Endocarditis which destroyed 2 valves of his heart resulting in lifesaving open-heart surgery to fit a mechanical valve.
In 2020, 4 months into the covid pandemic an unexpected abscess formed (Perianal) which Aaron lived with for months, taking antibiotics after antibiotics. Eventually in 2021 after going into hospital to have the abscess drained, consultants discovered what they thought was a large tumour, a colostomy bag was fitted to allow his bowel an opportunity to recover. It was confirmed that Aaron had rectal cancer. Then followed an intensive 6 week course of radiotherapy which was successful in shrinking the tumour. In preparation for surgery to remove the tumour Aaron was given a full body scan, this gave the devastating news that the cancer had spread to his lungs, liver and groin. Aarons cancer is now incurable and he has been given 6-9 months to live.
Friends of Aaron and his partner Sophie have set up this page to raise as many pennies as possible to aid Aaron tick off as many things off his bucket list as possible and create memories for their children Evan (15), Cohen (11), Mason (11) and Isabella (8).
Thank you for taking the time to read this and we really do appreciate every penny.
