Help Us Say Goodbye to Our Mom

On the night of September 3rd, our lives changed forever. My mother never came home. My father and I searched for hours, and it wasn’t until 3 a.m. that she was found unconscious in her car. The ambulance and police delivered the worst news we could ever imagine—our beloved mother had suddenly passed away.

She was the heart of our family, leaving behind her devoted husband and three daughters:

• Ailyn, 28

• Evelyn, 18, beginning her first year at the University of Texas at Austin

• Yoselin, 13, just starting 8th grade

Mom worked tirelessly as a cleaning lady to give us opportunities for a better life, and the chance at higher education. She loved her daughters more than anything in this world. Beyond her family, she touched the lives of many through her volunteering at Austin Reconciliation Church, where she helped during donation events and built lifelong friendships.
