Jason’s euthanasia scheduled for 06/22/19

This my sweet boy Jason, who miraclously seems to have way more than 9 lives. Please read the whole story.

I've had him since he was a baby kitten, and he has made my life so much better since. He got me through my toughest years (and I'm trying to continue returning the favor). Jason is not just your typical cat, he's been my emotional support king. I had a liver transplant when I was 6months old and was diagnosed with dermatomyositis 10yrs later (which took years to dignose). Life hasn't been easy but I always knew if someone needed my help, I'd do my absolute best. And then it started to happen.

On September 2, 2017 Jason had what looked like a heat stroke, which triggered his whole world to collapse. A few months prior he was starting to loose hair (and we still don't know the cause, even with bioposies done). At this point he was diagnosed with Anemia, FIV and Diabetes. And we told he would live about 6 months. It's now been 1 year and 6 months. After months of giving him at-home hospice-like care (subcutanoeus fluids twice or three times daily), feeding him by hand/syringe, insulin, having accidents in odd places, he started to eat and drink on his own.

At this point he had seen 10 veterinarians in Napa-Vallejo area. Suddenly his food habits changed and after a few visits, they determined he had Stomatitis and had to have the majority of his teeth removed. As a result, we decided to go the wet food route, which improved his appetite by MILES. Once stable enough for a long ride, local friends helped him get to UC Davis and get care (thank you Kristen & Justin). Where he saw dermatologists. They found he a Yeast Infection (because he was liking to sit on top of his pee, when he would go on his bed or pee pads), even when we almost immediately change them, he would beat us. Eventually he got the memo and does it less frequently but now rubs his wet food all over (I think) and still have a mysterious black dirt on him. Even after baths, and daily cleaning all his things, this black substance shows up randomly. And his hair isn't growing normal.

Thankfully the mats have gone away mostly but everything else still lingers.

Now currently (as of November 30, 2018), another doctor did some X-rays and said he had an Enlarged Liver and is suggesting a exploratory surgery and to see an internal medicine doctor at UC Davis, which we can't afford. My family and I have put in a lot of money (11-12 vets and their own clinic visits/follow ups). I do work hard but due to my medical disabilities, I can't work the insane hours to afford to continue his search for answers. I don't want Jason to be euthanized (but will do if it comes to it) without knowing his underlining mysterious health problem. He is like his mama, once my rare disease was discovered, it helped many others get treated. I know Jason could be the same for many kittens/cats out there.

He currently gets 3 units of insulin twice a day, two cans of wet food (normal size), and occasionally some prescribed pain medication. Symptoms, he has this substance over his body, feet mostly covered in it, urinates/poops on his bed, cardboard, and pee pads only. He eats and drinks normally.

He loves his hands held when falling asleep.

So we need your help to raise this money urgently, and/or for you to email any vets you know, and see if anyone can do this for him for free (pro-vet-bono) . We are searching for an act of god through a veterinarian now! Otherwise he will be put down first week of May or I will have to relinquish him completely to UC Davis so they can provide him the research he needs. Which I don't want to do. I love both my cats so much, but Jason will always be my little boy.

This photo was taken a few years before he started losing hair and his best girlfriend would tackle him. She was very lucky to not of contracted FIV before we knew. For those that helped us before, thank you so much from the bottom of heart. Your help got him this far.
