Shauna and I have been dear friends since we were just girls in middle school. She is an amazing woman who I admire in so many ways. Shauna is such a beautiful friend to so many, she is the best mother to her son Kai, and she is an incredible and talented art therapist and counselor at her own practice, helping and supporting so many people through the hardest times in their lives.

Unfortunately, now Shauna is experiencing some hard times in her own life, with her recent diagnosis of Invasive Lobular Carcinoma; stage 3. Over the next 6 months, Shauna will be undergoing intensive treatments such as chemotherapy and radiation. She will also have additional long-term medical treatments. Shauna is a single parent and self-employed. During active treatment, she will not be able to hold her normal work schedule. Shauna has been taking things day by day since this diagnosis and coping in a very healthy way. Everyone who knows her knows how strong and wise she is and has always been. I'd like to request that we give her a break from being strong. Let us be her strength for a while, friends. Let us send our love and support to her now, to help her with life's tasks, living expenses, and medical expenses while she prioritizes herself and her treatment and takes time to rest and heal.
