Benefit Recital - EuroTour 2025!
Donation protected
Sehr geehrte Damen und Herren,
In just a few weeks, I will be traveling with the Prince of Peace Lutheran Church Choir to Europe, where we will join several other choirs from across the U.S. to perform Mozart’s Requiem at the 2025 Prague Choral Festival! In addition to Prague, we’ll also visit and perform in Vienna, widely known as the “capital of classical music” thanks to its deep musical roots and cultural legacy.
Before meeting up with the choir in Prague, I’ll be heading to Germany a few days early to take the Goethe-Zertifikat B2 Exam at the Goethe-Institut in Freiburg. Passing this exam will formally certify my proficiency in German and create new opportunities for both academic and professional growth.
This journey is more than just a personal milestone—it’s also a chance to bring back valuable musical, cultural, and linguistic insights that will enrich the choirs I work with at home. I’m excited to share what I learn with the choruses I sing with, and to bring fresh inspiration and international perspective to the children’s choir I direct!
To help support this endeavor, I will be giving a benefit recital of German Lieder on Saturday, May 10 at 5pm at St. James Lutheran Church (5660 Trabue Rd, Columbus, OH 43228). Donations are greatly appreciated, but not required. I look forward to seeing you all there!
Herzliche Grüße,
Katie Bretz
