European meeting in Marseille : call for support !
Beschermde donatie
Hello!
Polluting our air and seas, an excessive carbon footprint, tourism without benefit for local businesses.
Pleasure cruises increasingly impose themselves as public health risks, environmental disasters, and nuisances for civic life in port cities around the world.
We are the collective Stop Croisières Marseille (https://stop-croisieres.org/), and like us, many other collectives around the world are joining the fight against cruise businesses.
We see the same problems, the same risks, and last but not least the same gigantic cruise ships in our cities.
We have decided to join ranks, and to fight these swimming ecological disasters together.
This is why activists from more than 14 anti-cruise initiatives around Europe are going to meet in Marseille, during the weekend from 8th to 10th March.
For three intense days, we will discuss the problems we see, share experiences and coordinate our initiative to make the dirty monster go away.
We will lay the foundations for an international network of anti-cruise action. Our combined force and impact will be far greater than any of us alone.
However, not everybody in our community has the same financial burden, nor the means to shoulder them.
For some of us, the travel costs (by train, of course) alone far exceed our personal budget.
And all collectives are independent, non-commercial, and grassroots-organised, so we don't have access to any external funding. This is why we are turning to you.
Please help us make this event happen, and support the funding of our network meeting.
Every little bit helps, and all of it goes 100% into funding activists' travel costs where support is needed (accommodation is self-organised), and food and drinks during the event.
We believe that this is by far the best bang you can get for your buck, if you want to help us fight the cruise menace.
Thank you for your help, and let's come together to Stop Croisières. Everywhere.
Best,
Stop Croisères Marseille Collective
