European high school STEM trip

Hi, my name is Jen Hudson and I’m a high school teacher of 20 years and am excited to take a large group of 45 high school students and some parents on a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) tour to London and Paris this summer to work with local experts on STEM activities in the areas of code breaking and criminal investigations to the cryptic creation and engineering marvel of Stonehenge. London is a prime spot for problem solvers and inquiring minds. In this trip of a lifetime, Students will have an opportunity to explore London and Paris while letting STEM be their guides. Students will work with experts to uncover secret messages at Bletchley Park, the birthplace of modern information technology, practice their sleuthing skills during a CSI-inspired forensics workshop and plant their feet on two different hemispheres at the Royal Observatory in Greenwich, with the English capital as their backdrop. Students will also participate in a hands on engineering project at Stonehenge learning first hand teamwork skills. They will be exploring a technology museum, visiting the Louvre, taking a Jack the Ripper walking tour and a riverboat tour along with sight seeing and a Broadway play. Our students are ready to get out and explore in this big world, work with others and become hands on learners in a global classroom playing with Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics where they have the opportunity to earn both high school and college credit. I wanted this trip to be inclusive for all but a trip to Europe is expensive so I am starting this fundraising campaign to help my students out. Anything you can contribute is greatly appreciated. I have a few students who’s families ran in to some hard times and I would like to help with some expenses while on the trip and the rest will be shared between the group for food while abroad.
