My name is Michael. For more than 25 years I’ve had the honour of knowing and working alongside Francis A. Willey, a humble, compassionate artist whose life’s work is a quiet, luminous defence of traditional fine art photography. Francis is the kind of mentor who gives his time and knowledge freely: he has taught, encouraged, and inspired generations of photographers without asking for payment, always insisting that art’s greatest reward is the work itself and the good it does in the world.

Why this matters. In an age dominated by instant digital images, the patient, handcrafted processes Francis practices are in danger of being forgotten. His work, a lifetime of analog prints exploring the human figure, light, and spirit has been collected and exhibited internationally. Galleries across Europe have now invited Francis to bring his work to influential audiences that can help ensure this tradition survives and thrives. This is a rare chance to introduce younger collectors, curators, and artists to the emotional depth and technical mastery of traditional photography.

Where we need help Francis can take this opportunity - but not alone. The costs for shipping priceless original works, museum grade conservation framing, comprehensive international insurance, customs and crating, and travel and logistics for exhibition setups are substantial. As an independent artist who shares his gifts freely, Francis does not have the financial resources to cover these expenses.

Our goal We’re raising funds to safely ship and exhibit Francis’s work in several prestigious European galleries, covering:
