Euro Deaf Badminton Championship - Andy Craigie

Hello, my name is Andy Craigie and I am fundraising for my participation in my first European Deaf Badminton Championships which will take place in Brno, Czech Republic on Friday 25th to Sunday 27th April 2025.

I will be competing in Men's Singles and Men's Doubles for GB Deaf Badminton team. I am the only person from North East England that has been selected for GB Deaf Badminton team.

Badminton is a passion of mine, badminton is very good for physical and mental health as well it is a great socialising and competitive sport.

I think Deaf Badminton can be important as it brings both deaf community and badminton community together through a shared interest of playing and competing at badminton.

My attendance to European Deaf Badminton Championship is important to me because this is my first time travelling abroad for international level of badminton competition with rest of the European deaf sports community.

Fundraising will be used for:

Travelling (I travel to GB Deaf Badminton training sessions, South of England)

Coaching ( I do extra one to one training sessions, 3 times a week)

BSL-English interpreter (for communication with my hearing badminton coach)

Court Bookings (from 6 to 8 hours a week)

Transport to Championship in Brno, Czech Republic (accommodation, flight to Czech Republic, food, and kit),
