Struggling After Medical Emergencies

Over the past eight months my better half endured multiple medical emergencies due to rabies exposure, reoccurrence of a blood clotting disorder and a sudden onset of an unknown immune system dysfunction.

On March 13th, 2025 she developed bi-phasic anaphylaxis which required 6 Emergency room visits over the course of 19 days. She has never experienced anaphylaxis before and her symptoms have been difficult to control.

She was back in the emergency room as of March 30th, 2025 for another bi-phasic reaction. She has allergies to allergy medication which has made this hard (but not impossible) to treat. Her doctors are working to find the proper dosage and combinations that will work and a referral has been put in for a specialist.

We are extremely lucky that insurance covered all medical expenses and prescriptions for everything however the time off has been financially devastating.

We obliterated our safety net trying to scrape by in every way possible since this began in late July but it wasn’t enough.

We need help to immediately to cover bills, groceries and the repair my truck was supposed to receive earlier this month.

Due to being an owner operator I don’t meet the qualifications for any kind of state or county assistance. Kind family members have helped cover pet food, as well as Peninsula Friends of Animals. A local charity Ginger’s Closet has graciously paid the power bill for the month as it was about to be shut off.

In short: We’re grateful that she is seeing improvement but we’re about to lose everything and we need help.

Update: She has been admitted to the hospital after 7 ER visits. They are transferring her to a hospital in the Seattle area where she can get seen by several specialists at once.
