Eugene Bourgault has been a familiar face in Key West for more than 23 years and now, he needs our help!
If you know Eugene, and his partner of more than 30 years, Charles, you know their love for Disney. On a recent visit to the parks, Eugene became dizzy and began to lose some of his faculties. After many scans and tests, it was determined that he had multiple tumors in his brain. The good news is that the doctors were able to successfully remove all the tumors, but Eugene will be out of work for quite some time as he recovers. This fund is to help offset the daily costs of living in the Keys for Eugene, as well as the medical bills that are already piling up.
You may have met Eugene when he worked in the deli at Fausto's on Fleming. He and Charles then ran Butlers Restaurant on Southard Street until the owner sold. Eugene had been scooping ice cream at Flamingo Crossing for 15 years, until this medical emergency. You may also have met Eugene and Charles at some of the places where they are regulars such as Grand Vin Wine Bar, Martin's on Duval, Ocean Grill and New York Pasta Garden in Duval Square.
Eugene is currently at Mt. Sinai's Rehabilitation Facility healing and working on physical therapy. It is too early to tell how long he will be there but the bills are already stacking up. Your donations and shares are greatly appreciated and every one helps. Thank you in advance!
