On October 30th, our hearts stopped as we learned the news that my brother, Giovanni, was in an unthinkable accident that has turned his life upside down. Giovanni is medically stable, but is in immense pain and has a long road of recovery ahead of him. The accident severed half of his hand and resulted in wounds that will require ongoing medical attention to heal.

Over the coming days, weeks and months, Giovanni will undergo extensive wound care, physical rehabilitation programs and be in and out of countless doctors appointments. We have started this GoFundMe account to ease the financial burden for Giovanni so that he may focus on healing.

Giovanni is the owner/operator of a transport business, which relies on him being able to meet the physical demands of his daily work. Without the ability to physically run his business, he will lose his only source of income. As we all know, the normal costs of every day living: groceries, utilities, gas, etc have increased tremendously. Without the net of a company-paid medical leave, Giovanni is faced with these mounting expenses in addition to the overwhelming medical costs he is about to take on in order to get his life back on track.

The funds we are trying to raise will help Giovanni cover his basic living expenses and new medical expenses. Ultimately, Giovanni will need a prosthetic hand so that he can continue to operate his business and resume earning his living. Your donations can turn that goal into a reality and give him the time and resources he needs to focus on his recovery.
