Angel Baby Eugenio's Memorial Fund

Hi everyone, My name is Christy Goodwill. With a heavy heart, I am creating the first GoFund Me page to help my wonderful stepson and his wife. We had the most amazing Christmas this last year when we found out that we were expecting our first grandbaby, Eugenio. As you all know the Amazon cart was full and ready. The eager waiting for the little one to arrive was a mixture of excitement and yearning.
Skye and Fran are wonderful parents and exceptional humans with kind hearts. Eugenio was going to enter this world with as much love a child could receive and an army ready to guide him. Well, he must have known and was just as eager to see his family.
Eugenio Emiliano Julian Karreci was born at 2:40 am on February 24th, 2023, at 23 weeks. He was a small but mighty little guy with an amazing personality already. He had dark brown hair, brown eyes, and the sweetest little feet any momma could love. When he made his little grunts or wines it was heavenly music to his mamma. The first week came and went, the blue light was removed, some lines had been removed and the small milestones were working in our favor. The hope was alive, and the focus was on showing him how much he was loved every day.
The nurses always commented on how strong and bold he was, that he was taking to breast milk, and that it was going to be a long recovery, but the spirits were very high. Skye would call us to tell us how much stronger Eugenio was getting each day. That he had the fighting blood of his family and the strength of his momma. We even gave him the nickname "Pirate", it took him a minute to open one eye, but he will always be our little pirate.
On Wednesday, March 8th at 5:40 am, the angels gathered near his side so very close to taking him home. The text message came, and we sat on the couch in disbelief. At that moment, Eugenio they’re beautiful boy was looking homeward to the place in the sky, where Jesus held his outreached arms and it was time to say goodbye.
The decisions needed to be made and the healing needed to begin. The parents so selflessly asked for a couple of days to mourn with no interruptions. It was like time stood still for everyone and our hearts will not be the same.
We are asking for some additional support with funding the burial of our precious baby boy Eugenio. We have been able to cover the cost of the tiny casket and funeral arrangements, but what they need assistance with is... the actual plot itself. These parents amaze me... they are not trying to buy multiple spots but one that is deep enough to bury their son and enough room for one of them to be buried with him. This way he will always be with one of them. The cost to dig deeper and one plot is around $5,000.
As we all know they are always extra costs associated with anything, so I created the go fund a little higher than what is needed. Especially, with them both being out of work the last two and half weeks, bills do not stop, unfortunately.
To all our family and friends out there, thank you for this support and all who have been a part of this unfortunate situation, thank you for everything. Love our Family!!
