Hello, my name is Dwight Taylor. I represent Concerned Citizens against Violence in Gary. July 25th, 2015, at 10:00 a.m., 21-year old Diamond Bynum and her 2-year old nephew King Walker dissappeared from the 500 block of Matthews Street in Gary, Indiana. They have not been seen since.
Tuesday, August 4, 2015, Frankie Monahan, a facebook friend contacted me based on my extensive work done pertaining to the protection to civil & human rights of all.
He was angered about the Gary Police discontinuing their search for Diamond & King. He asked me, based on what he had heard and read about my history of community activism work if I wanted to join his crusade to find Diamond & King. I was thrilled. Unfortunately, it took an individual from another city to come to Gary to look for these young people. I was obliged.
Today, August 5th, I met with Mr. Jerome Flag, Director of the Gary Neighborhood Services, Inc. to inquire about obtaining some space there for our Command Center. Our Command Center will be used as our central destination to drop off food, snacks, and water for our searchers in the field, or anything the people want to contribute to our crusade during our relentless efforts to find these young people.
The Command Center will also be a destination where the people can obtain flyers and purple ribbons for distribution.
