Overwhelming Expenses from Severe Stroke
Donation protected
Our request is for prayers, kindness and help for the Eugene Gonzales’ family with overwhelming expenses. Organized by The Kline Family.
On May 13, 2021 Eugene (Gene) Gonzales was driving his 18-wheeler for KAG. He was on his way to Georgia when an accident occurred in Laurel, MS. He was transported to St. Dominic’s Hospital in Jackson, MS where he was diagnosed with a severe stroke. A Workers Compensation Representative came to St. Dominic’s Hospital and told Gene’s wife, Julie Gonzales, “not to worry as Workers Compensation would pay for everything”. A few days later the Insurance Adjuster from the company Gene worked for, KAG, called Julie and stated that Workers Compensation would pay for expenses of accident from Laurel, MS to Jackson, MS only, “beyond that it’s on you!”
Gene’s stroke left his right side impaired, loss of speech (Aphasia) and no recollection of the accident, therefore unable to state what caused the accident. They owe over $40,000.00 in medical expenses that their insurance did not cover for hospital, several weeks in-patient rehab and out-patient therapy. The family is burdened with the ongoing daily care expenses as well as the loss of Gene’s income. A sad story not only for his wife, but their daughter and her fiancé who made the decision to give up their apartment and move back home to help care for Gene. All their lives have been turned upside down and they are living on the edge, financially and emotionally. The care and worry consumes every moment of their lives. We are immensely grateful for anything you can donate to help with the families overwhelming amount of expenses.
Thank you.
