Eugene Bufford

Hello, as many of you may already know our father, Eugene Bufford, recently passed away. For those of you that knew him he was a very prideful and considerate man. He was a single father, decorated veteran , and a loyal friend who worked very hard to put everyone else's needs before his own. Sadly, he suffered in silence through his cancer diagnosis as he did not disclose this to anyone. Eugene was diagnosed with multiple myeloma, a cancer that aggressively attacks your blood cells and bone marrow. His only wish was that he would be able to see all of his daughters graduate high school and move out to set the foundation for the rest of their lives. Thankfully, he was able to hold on long enough to do that. Earlier this week my sister and I found him in his home immobile and unable to move or call for help. After spending a few days in the hospital we learned of his diagnosis and that his kidneys were failing and he wasn't getting any better.

The hospital he was admitted to recognized this and he was then sent to Brigham and Women's where he would be able to receive a more complex procedure to help with his kidney function and help him feel better. Early Tuesday morning, we got a call that his heart had stopped and after several attempts at resuscitating him he could no longer hold on. Eugene leaves behind four daughters and a young grandson. We are reaching out in hopes for support to help us with the financial burden of his services and a proper burial. Unfortunately, we were also left with some other financial obstacles that are otherwise unachievable. We greatly appreciate any assistance as this is something none of us were prepared for.
