On Friday, October 12th, 2018, Sophia was rushed to hospital with severe headaches, vision issues, right sides upper body numbness and paralysis, nausea and vomiting.
Sophia was diagnosed with a brain aneurysm and had suffered a stroke during this period of time. Sophia was treated in St. Michaels hospital in Toronto where a surgical procedure was attempted and aborted to address the bleeding in her brain on October 25th, 2018.
On October 30th, 2018, it was decided by the neurosurgical team to release Sophia from hospital and continue to follow her progress in hopes that the aneurysm would clot off on its own during this time. Sophia continued to experience extreme dizziness and vision loss but was happy to be at home with her family, including her beautiful 2 year old daughter.
On the night of November 14th, 2018, Sophia was once again rushed to hospital in Toronto as her brain aneurysm has ruptured. She continues to be in and out of consciousness and the neurosurgical time is testing to determine the next steps to take for Sophia.
Eugene is the sole financial support for this family and has had to take time off to be with his wife during this trying time and make many trips between Newmarket & Toronto. Eugene is almost out of sick time and it is unclear when he will be able to return to work at this time This campaign was created in hopes of supporting the family during this trying time so that Eugene can stay by Sophia's side without the financial worry.
