Hi, my name is Lanie. I’m 20 years old and recently started my career as a care manager. A few months ago, I underwent ankle surgery, and about six weeks into recovery, I started a new job—excited for a fresh start. Unfortunately, on my very first day, I lost consciousness for over five minutes and was rushed to the ER by ambulance. Since then, my health has taken an unexpected turn.
What began as a single surgery turned into multiple procedures due to a severe and persistent infection. Last week, I was admitted to the hospital and spent a full week there undergoing testing, treatment, and another surgery. After more tests and appointments, I was diagnosed with a serious bone infection and now face at least six more weeks of daily IV antibiotics.
Because of these complications, I was recently let go from my job, leaving me without an income during a time of overwhelming medical expenses. As I focus on healing, I’m also navigating the financial burden that comes with this long and uncertain recovery.
Any support—whether through donations, shares, or kind words—means the world to me. Thank you so much for helping me get through this incredibly difficult time.
