My name is Diarmaid Ó Conaráin, and I'm the Irish Freedom Party candidate for the EU elections in Dublin this June.

The reason why I wanted to run in the EU elections is because I believe it's long overdue that Ireland had a real voice of opposition at an EU level, and Dublin can provide that. What began as a trade union and economic zone has quickly extended its reach to now being responsible for 80% of Ireland's new legislation, including the Hate Speech Bill, Carbon Taxes and building regulations raising the price of housing.

Lately the EU has shown its open disdain even for the democratic rights of its own member states, and openly seeks to punish nations such as Hungary for a lack of obedience to the EU's ideological pursuits at the expense of an entire continent of taxpayers.

Career politicians have proven time and time again that they will not represent the interests of Irish people at an EU level. In fact most have remained entirely in the shadows during their 5 year term, having little to no effect even in terms of raising awareness or campaigning against EU directives.

If elected I will align with the increasing number of elected MEPs from various EU nations that are becoming increasingly Euroskeptic in their response to the Commission's mandates. I will work to restore Ireland's self determination legally and maintain our neutral stance in the face of a pursuit of an EU army.

In the 2019 EU elections in Dublin there was a voter turnout of less than 50%. Change is available if we can mobilise and seize it. But the status quo cannot be challenged if half the population doesn't vote.

Make sure your voice is heard in June, and show career politicians who've delivered nothing but perpetual failure the door. Go raimh maith agat.
