On March 5, 2017 my good friend and coworker, Darius Davis, was in a car accident on his way home from his part time job when he fell asleep at the wheel. I've known him for 4 years and he is a great friend, father, husband, and son. Every night after work I sat in the parking lot talking to him before I went home. It's hard to find a co-worker in this line of work that truly has your back...Darius is one of those guys. He talks about his family all the time and he truly loves his wife and 3 sons. Darius is a NC corrections officer at Central Prison in Raleigh, NC. He started to make a recovery when it took a turn for the worse, and he was put on life support. He was taken off life support March 18th at 5:00 pm and is currently breathing on his own, but due to the severe swelling in his brain doctors say he has significant brain damage. We are still hopeful, because there have been other people to make miraculous recoveries. I'm hoping to raise money to give to his family to help them through this devastating time.
