I need new wheels!
Donation protected
Hi Friends,
I'm not one to ask for monetary help, but this time I really do need some assistance. I've Secondary Progressive Multiple Sclerosis, something which I've been struggling with and soldiering on with for many years now. It's taken away my ability to walk, so now due to MS, I'm now a full time wheelchair user. Not sure whether any of you know how much a custom wheelchair can set you back, but the one I now need is £5.5K. I'm needing an ultra lightweight one to enable me to stay in employment and maintain my independance.
My local wheelchair services and the government Access to Work scheme have refused my application to fund a new one, and the atrocious appeal process takes months to resolve. In the meantime, I accumulate injury and lug around in a wheelchair which is not really fit for my current clinical needs.
I've some savings, some of which will contribute to buying my new wheels. But I can't dig too deep as I've a family to feed and provide shelter.
Anything anybody can throw in the pot will go a long way to helping with helping me out. I'm extremely grateful in advance of any donation... I know how hard everybody works.
One thing I can offer is wheelchair lessons. Who knows, y'all may be needing one someday?
