Uncle Buck

Marlin “Buck Wheat” Sherwood  died suddenly and unexpectedly on August 4, 2020. 

Buck is my dads brother, my uncle, but I feel like he was Uncle Buck to everyone.  As a child he developed a severely high fever, leaving him mentally handicapped with the mental age of around 12. Meaning he was a kid for life. Doctors didn’t expect him to even live to adulthood and he made it well into his 60’s. He was scared of dogs but loved kids.  He loved Christmas and would wake up early to go house to house to see what he got. You would see him mowing grass or just driving his lawn mower around. He was the worlds best hitch hiker and made his way through the hills of Maryland and West Virginia quicker than anyone! 

Buck lived with my Grandma, who passed away in 2018. My parents have been doing their best to continue to take care of him the way shedid. I want to ease the burden of funeral expenses for him. He was a community staple and everyone knew him! 

My dad has expressed it was my grandmas only wish that he be buried and placed next to his grandparents.  That means two short years after my grandma passed my dad is now facing another funeral  expense.

I don’t ask for a lot from my friends and family  but you all know buck was family to everyone in that community  so please donate what you can.. 

Note: listening to my dads heart break that he couldn’t be there to hold his brothers hand while he passed because of COVID restrictions, seriously broke me.. 

Buck passed away from what we believe is sepsis. He was being treated for a nasty infection in his foot.. yesterday evening my parents called an ambulance because he was not acting right mentally. He then passed away this evening .. my parents were not allowed to visit with him because of the pandemic guidelines!
