Etobicoke Rangers U18 Nationals
Donation protected
18 young men want to attend the Canadian Baseball Championship!
Its been over 20 years since an 18U team has represented Etobicoke at the national championships. Its been a tumultuous year for these boys but they came together as a team and earned the right to compete for the ultimate prize in minor baseball in Canada.
Each member of this team has been playing organized baseball since the time they could ride a bike and really want to show the rest of Canada they can compete.
The championship tournament starts on August 16th so we don't have much time to pull things together. We've gotten great support from local organizations but we need a bit more to get us over the top.
The Etobicoke Rangers, originally the Etobicoke Indians, have been one of the premier teams in the province of Ontario for over 30 years. During this time, the Rangers have built a rich tradition of success. The objective of the Etobicoke Rangers AAA and ELITE programs is to provide young athletes with the best instruction, coaching, and competition at a very reasonable cost.
There have been some great players go through the Rangers organization enroute to the Majors, they include;
Joey Votto 1B (Cincinnati Reds)
Connor Lillis-White LHP (Los Angeles Angels)
George Kottaras C (Toronto Blue Jays, San Diego Padres, Boston Red Sox, Milwaukee Brewers, Oakland Athletics)
Shawn Hill RHP (Montreal Expos, Washington Nationals, San Diego Padres, Toronto Blue Jays)
Mike O’Halloran RHP (Toronto Blue Jays)
Greg O’Halloran (Florida Marlins)
Steve Breitner LHP (Detroit Tigers)
Denny Berni C (Boston Red Sox)
Brad Evaschuck RHP (Toronto Blue Jays)
Robbie Findlay RHP (Tampa Bay Devil Rays)
Warren Sawkiw INF (Detroit Tigers)
John Suomi C (Oakland Athletics, Kansas City Royals, Washington Nationals, Philadelphia Phillies)
Danny Gibbons 1B (Oakland Athletics)
Alex Borgo OF (Philadelphia Phillies)
Mike Roga RHP (Toronto Blue Jays)
In order to make this amazing experience accessible to all players, regardless of their personal family and financial background, we have set a goal of raising $25,000 ($7,500 from gofundme) to help cover just some of the costs associated with travel and equipment. Any donation will go a long way to making sure this experience becomes a reality for each of these boys.
We'll be sure to share the live stream link when it becomes available so stay tuned for more information
Thank you for your generosity,
Etobicoke Rangers
