We asked her to write an little bio and here it is:

"My Biography
My name is Huda Awel. I was born on October 1999 in Addis Ababa [Ethiopia] from my father Awel Sani and my mother Jemila Abdulkadir. I am the eldest child in a family of 8. Now, I am a senior in a high school named Gibson School. Until the 8th grade, I was a pretty mundane student with below average grade. I remember my life back then, I was unmotivated and not determined to do anything academic related. All of that changed when I joined the 9th grade. My dad had bought me all the books necessary and even more in hopes of encouraging me.It meant nothing to me at first but then one day I was so bored that I opened the history book. I read a page;and then the next and the next. I was interested and fascinated. Just like that, I completed the portion coverage for the test. Test day came and I took the test as usual. But there was nothing usual about the day our test was returned I scored good, great even. Right then, I knew that I had it in me. "
