Ethan Statz Brain Tumor

Ethan is married to my amazing cousin Becca. This October will be their two year anniversary. Ethan's two loves in life are Becca and farming :)
May 8th, 2019 started a little different than other mornings. Early that morning, Ethan had a seizure. He then got an ambulance ride from his home in Loganville, to Sauk Prairie, eventually arriving at St. Mary's Hospital in Madison. After an MRI that morning to hopefully find out why he had a seizure, the neurosurgeon confirmed Ethan had a tumor on his brain. Ethan was able to go home for few days, and of course, the first thing he did was head to the shop to resume farming activities. After an appointment with the neurosurgeon, Ethan's surgery to remove the tumor was scheduled for May 16th, 2019.
Ethan was in surgery for over seven hours. His surgeon got most of the tumor, but believes some was left behind. There were deeper parts that she wasn’t able to get at that were too risky. By the afternoon of May 17th, 2019 (the day after his initial surgery), Becca said Ethan was starting to get back to his normal self, picking on her and being goofy.
Next step is to get a new MRI to see what is left of the tumor. There’s a possibility he’ll be staying at the hospital for a second surgery the week of May 20th, 2019. They will not know prognosis or further treatment until they get the results back from testing. They’ll have a general idea of the type of tumor in a couple days, but won’t know the treatment plan for a while due to that testing taking place at Mayo.
They are taking one day at a time, but at this point, it is unsure what the road ahead looks like. If you are able to contribute to help cover medical bills, insurance premiums, time off work, etc., I know Ethan and Becca would be humbled by your generosity and forever grateful. Please keep Ethan and Becca in your thoughts and prayers, and send all the love and positive healing Ethan's way.
