Hello, my name is Emily Dette and I am Ethan’s big sister.

On Friday, June 13th, Ethan was on his way to a friend’s wedding when he was involved in a horrific car accident. He was life-flighted from the scene and has been in the NeuroTrauma ICU ever since.

Ethan suffered multiple serious injuries, including brain bleeds, a broken femur (requiring surgery and a rod placement), broken humerus (still needing to be fixed), and numerous bruises, abrasions, tears, staples, and stitches. While he remains intubated, we’re grateful to share that he is now breathing on his own, and the medical team is closely monitoring his progress in hopes of extubating him soon.

There have been small but promising signs: Ethan is moving his left leg and arms, and occasionally opening his eyes. These glimpses give us hope, but he still has a long road to recovery ahead.

We are asking for help to support Ethan during this incredibly difficult time. Donations will go toward medical bills, rehabilitation costs, and other expenses related to his recovery journey. Every contribution, no matter the size, helps relieve some of the financial burden and allows his family to focus on what matters most — being by his side and helping him heal.
