Ethan has been diagnosed with lymphoma and we are asking our wonderful community for support as he begins his treatment journey.
After a couple of months experiencing severe chest pain and a previous unremarkable cardiac work up, a follow-up X-ray mid October revealed a mass in Ethan's chest. After being told he would require a CT scan to further investigate the mass, they gave him a date at the end of November. We knew in our guts we had to have this investigated sooner and ended up paying out of pocket for a private CT; many thanks to our terrible healthcare system. Ethan's CT revealed a mass measuring at almost 10cm in close proximity to his heart, causing the pain he had been experiencing for the months prior, as well as lymph involvement and a nodule to his lung. A biopsy confirmed our greatest fear, and our son, brother, uncle, and friend was diagnosed with lymphoma. Ethan will meet with his oncology team at the Cross Cancer to discuss treatment this week, but they have said treatment will likely begin within the week.
We are asking our community for support in the form of financial donations if you are able, as well as prayers, to help alleviate some stress on Ethan as he goes through treatment. Being close to an hour travel each way from the Cross Cancer, and receiving treatment throughout the winter, costs are going to accumulate quickly with Ethan being off work. We are hoping to be able to raise funds for Ethan to help cover his day to day living expenses, gas, parking, possibly the need for hotels due to weather conditions, supplements to keep him as healthy as possible throughout treatment, and anything else that may be necessary as he moves forward in his battle against Lymphoma.
We appreciate any generosity you may be able to contribute to him so it's one less stress through this tough time. If you are unable to donate financially it would be greatly appreciated if you could keep him in your thoughts and prayers.
Ethan and his family are feeling optimistic that he will beat this and it will be just a scary chapter in his life we can hopefully close soon. During this time, Ethan has requested if friends and family can respectfully minimize contact to him directly to reduce overwhelm that it would be appreciated.
If anyone would like to send well wishes you can contact Taylor and the messages will be passed along.
On behalf of Ethan and his family, we can't thank you enough for taking the time to consider supporting Ethan in any way you feel possible in this tough time.
