Ethan Powell & Family's Looming Medical Bills
Donation protected
Ethan Powell may seem like a typical 10-year-old boy who enjoys video games, using his imagination, and spending time with his family; however... his compassion, empathy, toughness, selflessness, and patience are anything but typical.
He is seemingly always ready to put others before himself and consistently seeks solutions to problems that friends encounter. Which are qualities that most do not associate with your typical 10-year-old boy.
As an elementary school student and devoted boy scout, he has experienced the everyday trials and tribulations that many have faced; recently, and unexpectedly, this kind-hearted boy has been put to an ultimate test.
The weekend before Halloween of 2022, Ethan (or EP as many family & friends call him) would experience excruciating pain in his legs; the pain would subside and disappear for moderate lengths of time - but then it would come back... with a vengeance.
Ethan's mom & dad brought him to the emergency room, and the doctors were unable to determine the cause and believed it to be soft tissue, so they put him in a cast and advised using crutches for a week. The crutches helped, but only temporarily. The pain would return and would now appear in different areas than before.
Now, in the middle of November 2022, Ethan has had to be kept overnight in the hospital while doctors, specialists, and oncologists run tests trying to determine two things...
1) What is causing this pain?
2) How can we treat it?
...answers to these questions have been provided; Ethan has Leukemia.
Even now, Ethan will still have some good days (playing with his dog - Loki, running in the yard, doing typical 10-year-old boy things) and also some bad days (more pain, unable to move, apathy), but the bad days are beginning to outweigh the good.
An entire world of emotions has been traveled by mom, dad, sister, & Ethan, and this rollercoaster has only just left the station.
THE PURPOSE OF THIS GO FUND ME is to help the Powells ultimately prepare for the looming medical bills that will assuredly be incurred, as well as to assist with any additional financial hardships that may result from mom and dad taking time off from work.
We all know what it's like to have a mortgage, utilities, auto loan, credit cards, insurance, and other expenses that pile up when our attention has to focus on the most important aspect of our lives... family.
If you cannot donate, please consider sharing this message with as many as possible - since we are all in different financial situations and never know who would be willing to help.
Thank you very much for your time reading this.
