Recently, my friends Dustin and Betsy Demmers posted the following about their son:These past few months my family and I have been on a pretty awful ride. Our son, Ethan, has been diagnosed with Duchenne's Muscular Dystrophy. For those of you who don't know, it is a progressive, degenerative and ultimately fatal disease. Typically people with this disease live only into their 20s. If you see my children regularly, please don't discuss this in front of them because we're not ready for full disclosure. For those of you who don't know Ethan, I just want you to get to know my son. I want to put a face on Muscular Dystrophy.
They have now taken an active role in the fight against this disease for their son and DMD patients everywhere. The road ahead for all of them will be difficult, painful, and very expensive. I set this site up to aid in their struggle. Anything you give will go directly towards medicine, medical equipment, making their home wheelchair accessible when the time comes, or even just sending Ethan on an adventure.
