Ethan’s Garden Project A dynamic living memorial inspired by one resilient spirit who left us way too soon. You knew Ethan. You were warmed by his giant smile, his generous laugh and his bright personality. You know how much he loved and cared for everyone - his family, friends and of course, the E-Team. And we know how much you loved him in return. Despite Ethan’s complex health challenges, Ethan brought light and love to so many people. On April 3, 2020, after 32 days in hospital, we had to say goodbye. He fought so hard, but in the end, he lost his fight. We miss Ethan everyday and we want his joy and love to live on. Being connected to nature has always been a big part of our family. Our garden is a haven for native plants. Ethan was a regular at the wheelchair accessible paths of many Provincial parks and Conservation areas. So we can’t think of a better way to remember Ethan than with a native species pollinator garden. Better yet, we want to build it beside the trail where he used to roll, right in the heart of Komoka. Our goal is to create a living dynamic memorial for him, and other members of our community who have passed. This garden will be a place where we all can enjoy native plants, butterflies and other pollinators. And a place where we can remember loved ones, like our Ethan, who are no longer with us. We hope you’ll join us in remembering Ethan. We want you to have the opportunity to say goodbye in a way he would have loved! (To be honest, he would have preferred a get-together, but the pandemic had other ideas). Please donate today! Your financial support will fund the building, planting, and maintenance of this garden for years to come. Together, we can create a beautiful Community Project that will last for years. Special thanks to Pat Fowler and Margaret Gelinas of the Middlesex Centre Pollinator Team, Mayor Aine Deviet, and Scott Mairs and Justin Fidler from Middlesex Centre. This project is only possible with the support of Middlesex Centre and with the help of Return The Landscape; in support of the Mayor’s Monarch Pledge. Phase one of the project will begin with a September planting. Thank you for loving our son. Love, Joe and Christine, Ethan’s parents PS. Please share your memories of Ethan! We love hearing them.
