Help Ethan Represent Australia on Europa Cup 2023

My name is Ethan Wilson and I’m a 22-year-old Australian Snowboard Cross (SBX) athlete.

I am asking for your support with my snowboard ambitions. My ultimate goal is to represent Australia at the Winter Olympic Games in 2026 for Snowboard Cross.

One month ago, I had the best result of my career so far and took a huge step towards what I believe I can achieve in the future. I landed a podium position at the FIS ANC SBX Mens National Championship races at Mt Hotham. This result means I have secured myself an allocation to compete on the European Circuit for the northern season which runs from November 2022 to March 2023. I am one of only six Australian athletes that have qualified to compete.

I work as hard as I can for 6 months of the year to accrue savings to support my goals. Unfortunately, however, Australia is a summer-sport nation and does not offer a great degree of funding to their winter athletes. I am responsible for funding my professional career and the journey that takes me to that level.

An athlete can expect to pay $45,000 to compete for a season in Europe, and I am responsible for funding this in its entirety.

I am hoping for a donation – large or small - to support my competition and training expenses in Europe this season. Airfares, transportation, lift passes, race entry, lane training fees, food, accommodation and equipment are just some of the expenses associated with living abroad and I intend to compete in all six Europa Cup races from November 22 - March 23. I have been working 50 hours a week as a construction labourer and coaching athletics at Caulfield Grammar to fund my ambitions, but need some extra support.
