Ethan Roche’s Recovery Fund (Antonelli Family)
Donation protected
On Thursday morning, March 11th, my sister Diane Antonelli and Steve Roche's 18 year old son, Ethan, was in a catastrophic motor vehicle accident. His small car collided with a tractor trailer truck on a rainy highway. Ethan sustained a traumatic head injury, fracturing the front of his skull. He also has considerable damage to his left eye.
Ethan was immediately taken into surgery where his neurosurgeon removed as much of the splintered bone fragments from his brain as possible and then reconstructed his skull and eye socket. The surgeon stated it was probably the worst damage she had ever seen.
Our family is extremely grateful Ethan is alive however, his prognosis is unknown. He is currently unconscious but is stable; his medical team will continue to monitor his condition. Once the swelling from the surgery subsides they will begin testing his brain activity.
Ethan will have a very long road ahead of him. I am starting this campaign with the hope of helping Ethan and his family overcome the considerable expenses they will be faced with in the near future. The funds will be used for Ethan's medical expenses, rehabilitation costs, equipment, long term care if necessary, and any other support needed. We will update with more information as soon as we have a better idea of his condition and what will be required.
Anyone who knows Diane will attest to fact that she is one of the kindest people you will ever meet and she would do anything to help anyone. As a single mother of three boys, she was completely and tirelessly dedicated to their well-being; holding down a full time job to support her family while staying involved in their school and sports activities. She passes her love for children on, working as a preschool teacher. This past year she was dedicated to ensuring the families she served could maintain some sense of normalcy. She has always worked extremely hard to make sure everyone is taken care of and happy. Diane is always optimistic and giving, even when faced with her own struggles and challenges. Diane would never ask for help on her own.
Please consider contributing to this fundraiser. Any donation would be greatly appreciated, no matter how small. Please spread the word by copying the link to your Facebook page.
With heartfelt thanks for your support,
Missy, Corbin & Hayley DiGianni
