Ethan Rice and his family after a severe ATV accident
Donation protected
On February 27th, 2025, Ethan Rice was struck by a moving vehicle while attempting to help slow down traffic for me, his brother in law, as I was trying to back a trailer into our driveway. The oncoming vehicle was unaware and crashed into the rear end of the ATV he was stationery on at approximately 40-50mph. Ethan laid unresponsive while emergency services were on the way. EMTs assisted Ethan on to a stretcher and into an ambulance where he was rushed to an open area so that life flight was able to pick him up and fly him to Orange Park Medical Center. Upon arrival, it was determined Ethan had multiple lacerations on his head, multiple face fractures, and microscopic bleeding of his brain. 20+ stitches and 18 staples were required to stop the bleeding from his head. He required additional stitches in his knee. The facial surgeon determined his jaw would need to be wired shut to allow proper healing. Surgery will likely be required as well when the swelling goes down. Ethan remains at Orange Park Medical Center where he will remain for a TBD amount of time.
Ethan is a loving husband and father to his wife Bridgette and son Gunner, who is 2 years old. Ethan enjoys fishing, hunting, trapping, and spending time with his beloved family. Ethan ALWAYS puts others before himself and now is a time where we all need to put Ethan before anything else. His road to recovery will be very long and painful, but through prayer, God will continue to put his arms around Ethan to help him in this extremely hard time.
Being that this is so fresh to all of the family, we will continue to update everyone on how Ethan is doing and would much appreciate any and all prayers for Ethan. We are all working hard to ensure we provide as much comfort for him now and when he comes home.
