Our family is asking for your prayers and support during this unimaginable time.

My brother and sister in law, Luis and Kristina, are experiencing something no parent is ever prepared for. Their sweet Ethan, who turned seven just two weeks ago, was recently hospitalized and diagnosed with Measles Encephalitis, a severe inflammation and swelling of the brain caused by a viral infection that traveled to his brain.

Doctors have given a devastating prognosis that Ethan may never walk, talk, or eat on his own again. Despite this heartbreaking news, our family is holding tightly onto hope and praying for a miracle. At this point the hospital has done what they can do and Ethan needs a miracle. We believe with all our hearts that with God, anything is possible and are praying that God will intervene and Ethan will receive a miracle and be able to walk out of the hospital on his own two feet!

Kristina is a stay at home mom who cares for their four young boys. Luis, the sole provider for the family, has taken a leave of absence from work so he can be at Ethan’s bedside during this difficult and unimaginable time. Kristina’s brother, Mindo, is caring for their three other boys at home so they can be with Ethan at the hospital. As if this weren’t enough, both the water heater and HVAC system unexpectedly broke in their home while they have been at the hospital, creating urgent repair costs and added stress. These unforeseen costs have placed a heavy burden on the family on top of everything else.

We are grateful for your prayers and any form of support during this difficult time. Above all, we ask that you pray for Ethan for complete healing in his body, strength he needs, and a miracle. Please also keep Luis and Kristina in your prayers, that God will give them the strength they need, peace in their hearts, and comfort as they face the days ahead, not knowing what the future looks like for their family.

Any contribution, no matter how big or small, will help ease the financial strain and allow the family to focus on what matters most, being there for Ethan. Your kindness, generosity, and prayers mean more than words can express.
