A headstone for Ethan Carter
Donation protected
Hello,
My name is Rachael, I am supporting a wonderful Mother who sadly lost her young son Ethan, aged 18 to suicide in February 2025. Not knowing where to start coping with the shock and grief his friends and family raised money for the funeral costs and then donated the remainder of this fundraiser to the Paediatric Diabetes Unit, who supported him since he was a child.
Mum and many of Ethan's friends need a place to visit, to talk to him and remember their precious memories and all that Ethan was. At the time of the original fundraiser a headstone was not been considered.
Ethan was a bright, loving and caring young man, who overcame the difficulties of being diagnosed with Diabetes and Dyslexia when young. Ethan had a passion for mountain biking and got himself into a few scrapes but always stood himself back up and got straight back on his bike. Ethan had a very kind nature and a love of all animals from wildlife to family pets including his lovely dog Geoffrey, a lifelong companion. Ethan was a talented chef and a bright light. He lit up every room with his cheeky smile and quick wit.
No-one knows what happened in those final hours but it just shows how quickly mental health can take a turn.
The devastation of suicide is far reaching and a memorial for Ethan would provide for those who need it a place to be.
Ethan's Mum is currently unable to work due to her grief and as such money is very tight. To support her and those others who seek this comfort with a headstone would be a tremendous help and comfort. Thank you to all who are willing and able to donate.
